ABOUT CHRISChris Arellano’s Nuevo Americana sound is a heartfelt blend of Norteno traditions from his northern New Mexico upbringing, fused with alternative country, blues, and bilingual storytelling. His music bridges cultures and generations, offering a deeply personal take on Americana that moves seamlessly between Spanish and English. Raised in the small town of Costilla, Chris began playing in his family band at the age of eight. After the passing of his father—his first musical mentor—he turned to guitar and found a lifelong passion. His journey took him from the mountains of New Mexico to Nashville’s storied stages, where he performed, recorded, and collaborated with top producers and songwriters. A seasoned performer and multi-instrumentalist, Chris also spent years teaching and mentoring musicians in the Pacific Northwest. In 2020, he returned to New Mexico, where he founded the Nuevo Americana music festival, now in its ninth year. Each summer, he's also leads the summer school of rock, a KID'S music camp in his hometown, continuing his commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians. Chris Arellano continues to write, record, and perform music that tells the stories of his roots—songs shaped by heritage, heart, and home. |
